Clara. The Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Rose Cut Diamond Engagement Ring. (1880)

£395.00

Clara.

The Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Rose Cut Diamond Engagement Ring. (1880)

Isn’t she just the prettiest? The diamond sets, the swirling gold detail, a true masterpiece of antique elegance. This little delight would be known as a gypsy ring for its beautiful embedded stones, and would have quite possibly been an engagement ring circa 1880. Featuring five graduated rose cut diamonds set delicately in an 18ct yellow gold shank. Stamped with the hallmark of G&C Chester, Clara is as pretty as a peach.

  • Ring Size: K 1/2

  • Hallmark: Chester

  • Maker: G&C

  • Metal: 18ct gold

  • Year: Circa 1880

Who was Clara’s previous Keeper?

We’re not sure of Clara’s true past but we can imagine she would have graced the finger of a happily engaged lady circa 1880, perhaps working in the newly established ‘Little Wonder’ haberdashery shop owned by newcomer, Thomas Burrell.

Disclaimer: We love that you love old pieces too. And with everything that is old, there’s always a story to tell. The little dinks, nicks and scuffs are all part of the character. Our pieces may not be uber sparkly but they are aesthetically perfect, to us and the beholder, in a way that pays respect to the past and the tales they tell. Please take the time to read the descriptions carefully and view all photographs before purchasing. Please see our returns policy for more information. Thank you.
