Merida. The Vintage Emerald & Diamond 9ct Gold Gypsy Ring. (1979)
Merida.
The Vintage Emerald & Diamond 9ct Gold Gypsy Ring. (1979)
Hand set, hand engraved. A ring of pure magic. A fine example of a Victorian style gypsy ring. This ring feels very empowering when worn, somehow sporting Scottish fairy tale vibes. 2 diamonds, 1 emerald and lots of swirling gold detail. I’m here for it.
Hallmark: Sheffield
Maker: GJL
Year: 1979
Size: M 1/2 (What’s my ring size?)
Metal: 9ct yellow gold
Emerald: 1 x emerald at 10pts.
Diamonds: 2 x diamonds at 5pts each.
Overall weight: 2.3gms
Who was Merida’s previous Keeper?
We’re not sure of Merida’s true past but we can imagine she may have been an ancestor of the Maiden who rode the Black Bull of Norroway, and cracked open the apple full of precious jewels. Folk lore of fiction? We can’t tell.
Disclaimer: We love that you love old pieces too. And with everything that is old, there’s always a story to tell. The little dinks, nicks and scuffs are all part of the character. Our pieces may not be uber sparkly but they are aesthetically perfect, to us and the beholder, in a way that pays respect to the past and the tales they tell. Please take the time to read the descriptions carefully and view all photographs before purchasing. Please see our returns policy for more information. Thank you.
